The Asian Education Foundation (AEF) is dedicated to promoting the learning of Asian languages and cultures in order to embrace the opportunities and challenges that globalization has presented. AEF believes that cultural understanding and international collaboration are essential to peaceful global development and transformation.

AEF encourages American students of all disciplines to study Asian languages and cultures. AEF advocates an integrated educational philosophy that brings together the acquisition of professional skills and the understanding of the environment in which those skills would be applied, thus enabling students to obtain not only expertise, but also an enhanced international perspective and effective communication skills. AEF is a publicly funded non-profit organization. The Foundation is funded by grants from government, charitable foundations and corporations, donations from organizations and individuals, memberships from corporations and individuals, and revenues generated from various programs.
